American sterling silver Victorian snuff box by Wood and Hughes of New York City, dated 1878. Presented and inscribed to GDA Bridgman 1878, this attractive, large box features Gothic style period engraving on the top and bottom, with the lid fitting securely and the hinge being clean and tight. This special antique snuff box is 2 7/8" long, 2 1/8" wide, 3/4" deep and weighs 88 grams or 2.8 ozs. Troy. The excellent original condition and clear detail, with no removals, repairs or alterations, make this an especially attractive offering. The soft, warm, original antique finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing.
